About Me
Hey there! Welcome, my name is Rissa, and I am a voice actor based in Chicago, IL.
Plain and simple: I love voice acting/acting. I’ve voiced characters of all types for several fiction podcasts on the BloodyFM podcast network, hosted by Bloody Disgusting; the range of characters I’ve voiced is wide and far - you can usually hear me as the stressed out mother, the exasperated bestie, the horror fiend at their wit’s end, the gal in uniform ready to kick ass, and so much more.
When I'm not recording or auditioning, I'm dedicated to supporting fellow creatives and advocating for survivors of intimate partner/domestic violence and military veterans. As a survivor myself, it's a privilege to help others who have faced similar challenges while remaining in pursuit of my personal and professional goals.
My most recent and proudest achievements are: taking on the role of Showrunner for “The Dead” podcast. This horror anthology series is produced by the Bloody FM Podcast Network and Bloody Disgusting, in partnership with The George A. Romero Foundation; I had the pleasure and privilege or providing voice over and acting time on-screen for an indie project named “Aliens: Resurgence”, created by Tristian “TrisRex” Johnson of TrisRex Studios based in Chicago, IL (see the trailer here!).
I've voiced characters ranging from the seasoned detective to the overworked, overtired, tough-as-nails mom desperately in need of a spa day, to the wicked computer program, to the optimistic inventory clerk with a fiery streak, and the gritty soldier with a soft spot, or the child on an adventure at summer camp. I am not kidding when I say I love voice acting - who wouldn’t? Especially when it’s this much fun!
Much of my work can be heard on the Bloody FM Podcast Network (SCP Archives, The Hotel, Margaret’s Garden, Mayfair Watcher’s Society).
I also narrate for Creepy Podcast; it's so cool having my voice take part in a genre of audio media that truly resonates with me. I'm passionate about creating deeply thrilling experience for listeners, and why not? Horror is especially good for that.
Giving listeners with an unforgettable journey into the mysteriously weird and macabre is always a goal I keep in mind when performing.
